When I was 24, I found a job in the city and moved into a flat. Because I had to work at night, I always went to bed around noon. Unluckily, the family next door were noisy all the time. After putting up with (忍受) it for a couple of weeks, I decided to face them and politely ask them to be quiet after lunch.
I knocked at their door and an old lady answered. I introduced myself first. Then she asked if I came over to complain about the noise. I said yes. She explained both she and her husband were going deaf (聋的), so they needed to speak loudly to hear each other. She invited me in and offered me a cup of coffee, and we started talking. Suddenly, we heard a loud noise in the kitchen. Then we found that her husband fell onto the ground. We sent him to the hospital at once.
