$\therefore CD⊥ AB$.
(2)$\because AB-AC=1$,
$\therefore AC=AB-1=AD+BD-1=AD+8$,
$\because CD⊥ AB$,$\therefore ∠ ADC=90°$,
在 $\mathrm{Rt}△ ACD$ 中,由勾股定理得,$AC^2=AD^2+CD^2$,
$\therefore (AD+8)^2=AD^2+12^2$,
解得 $AD=5$,
