One day in September 2020, Liu Ailun met two little girls in Laos. Attracted by their happy smiles and bright eyes, the 31-year-old Chinese photographer asked their father if he could take photos of them.
While chatting, Liu learned that the two sisters were of school age, but their family couldn't afford their school fees(学费). Liu offered to provide money for their education. Finally, the sisters went to a primary school.
"I found comfort and happiness in helping the girls, so I didn't want to ▲," Liu said.
In October 2020, Liu started a long-term public welfare(公益事业)project called Hope Vision. The project works together with a centre for disabled children called Hands of Hope in the capital of Laos. Each month, Liu gathers a group of volunteers to visit the children having hearing problems at the centre, providing both material support and emotional companionship(陪伴).
In August 2023, Liu and China Southern Power Grid Company worked together on a new welfare programme called Lights of Hope. Through this programme, the disabled children at Hands of Hope had the chance to take part in professional painting classes at least once a week.
Liu himself once had something wrong with his leg, so he understands what disabled children go through. He was lucky at the time to have the support from his mother, friends and children so that he could walk out of that difficult and dark period.
"I want these local children to see—like what I did—that even if you were born into a dark house, there would be someone out there helping to open the locks and windows to let the light in," he said.

根据第三段“I found comfort and happiness in helping the girls”可知,他不想停止这种帮助。故选 B。
根据第五段“Through this programme ... had the chance to take part in professional painting classes at least once a week”可知,发起“Lights of Hope”项目是为了帮助身障儿童学习绘画。故选 C。

根据第五段“Through this programme, the disabled children at Hands of Hope had the chance to take part in professional painting classes at least once a week”可知,“Lights of Hope”项目的目的是帮助Hands of Hope的残疾儿童学习绘画,故选C。
