t this time of year lots of children are preparing for exams and tests. In May, many pupils in Year 6 in England take SATs—a set of tasks given to schoolchildren to test their ability. This can be a stressful time but nearly everyone feels a bit worried about taking a test of any kind.
Teachers use tests to check what you've learned. In England, SATs are one of the biggest tests pupils take at primary school. *SATs show how you're doing in school and help the Government see if teachers are doing a good job.
Laura Gwilt, a famous expert, says, "Feeling worried about exams is normal! It means you care about your future. If you say your feelings out, like 'I'm nervous because this matters to me,' it would help you feel better." Remember, all your friends feel worried too!
It's important to try and remain positive when you're taking tests. Instead of thinking "I won't be successful," say "I've studied hard, and I'll do my best." To remain composed before your test, try deep breathing: breathe in slowly, then out slowly, and you can get relaxed.
