Pickleball is a new kind of sports that is getting popular(受欢迎的) all over the United States. In 2021 about 4,800,000 people in the US played it, and in 2022 the number got to more than 36,500,000.

Pickleball is a mix(结合) of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. It looks like tennis, but people usually play it on a badminton court(球场) with a bat. There are no difficult rules in the game, so players of all ages can get started quickly. “People could learn to play it in 30 minutes or even 10 to 20 minutes,” Jim Berger says. Many people feel happy by playing pickleball. “I know more about my classmates and we help each other in the game. It brings us together,” says Elizabeth Pavon, 11. She learned the sport in PE class.
Pickleball has even become a professional(职业的) sport. Some people think the sport could become an Olympic event(奥运会项目). Olivia Sutton, 15, plans to be a professional player. She says, “I think everybody who plays pickleball will love it.”
