Friday May 8th Sunny
Today there was a practice of escaping(逃走) from an earthquake. All the teachers and students took part in the activity. Before it, our class teacher, Mr Song, told us the rules for escaping. It started on time at 2:00 p.m. Mr Song shouted, “Stay calm! Under your desk! Stay away from windows and lamps!” All of us stayed under the desks. We covered our heads with arms quickly. Two minutes later, he shouted, “Group One, go!” “Group Two, go!”… My classmates ran out of the classroom one after another. When I was walking down the stairs on the right, Wang Ming, who was in front of me, fell down suddenly. I held him up quickly. All of my classmates got to the playground. No one was left. “We only spent seven minutes in total,” said Mr Song happily.
Then we went back to the classroom and watched a video about what to do if we stay outside during an earthquake. Everyone learned a lot from it. For example, if we are in the streets, stay away from buildings, walls, and power poles(电线杆). Someone may be in a car. Stop the car in a safe place.
