五、阅读下面短文,用英语回答短文后的问题。〔人与社会——文化景观〕
In southern Xinjiang's Kuga city, Qiuci Alley was once a quiet street. But now it's full of life! In 2023, the government spent over 32 million yuan making it beautiful. Today, 55 different businesses including snacks, crafts, and coffee are operating here.
At Abudulkadeer's teahouse, old tables and cheap tea (2~5 yuan a cup) make people feel at home. "Old friends come here to drink tea and play cards all day," says the owner. "They love the warm company (陪伴)!" Tourists like Dong Wei from Nanjing are surprised by the alley's bright buildings. "We stopped here because it's so beautiful," he says.
Wang Xinyu left city life to open "Huahua Café" here. "The buildings have colourful paintings on the walls," she says, hoping more tourists will visit.
Women also find new jobs here. Tailor (裁缝) Nurgul Memet teaches 50 women to make clothes with Atlas silk. "They can earn 5,000 yuan a month!" she says. Ma Xiaoyan's shop sells handmade gifts. "I want people to love our traditional culture," she smiles.
Chart I
Ma's shop is filled with many traditional handcrafted things, such as embroidery (刺绣品), fans, and small gifts. Tourists can shop and also learn how to make them.
Now, clean streets and happy people make Qiuci Alley a comfortable place. As Wang says, "Xinjiang is becoming a top tourist spot!"
Chart Ⅱ
Xinjiang's tourism will get better. It's far, but more people and shops here mean it has a bright future.
— A worker in Qiuci Alley
1. Why do people like to stay at Abudulkadeer's teahouse?
2. What does Chart Ⅱ tell us?
3. Do you think these changes are good for local people? Why or why not?
