Sharks have lived in the ocean for millions of years. They are important to the ocean ecosystem because they keep the number of other sea animals in balance. However, sharks are now in great danger.
People kill sharks mainly for their fins. Some people think shark fin soup is delicious and good for health, so they pay a lot of money for it. Fishermen catch sharks, cut off their fins and throw the sharks back into the ocean. Without fins, sharks can't swim well and soon die.
Besides, the ocean is getting polluted. Many sharks lose their homes and food because of water pollution. Also, overfishing makes the number of sharks drop quickly. If we don't protect sharks, they may disappear from the ocean one day.
We should stop eating shark fin soup and tell more people about the importance of sharks. Governments should make rules to stop killing sharks. Let's work together to save the sharks.
