2026年英语同步练习册八年级上册仁爱版河南专版第139页答案
C

The Yangtze River is the longest river in China and the third longest river in the world. The whole river is about 6,300 kilometers long. It starts in the Tanggula Mountains on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau and goes through 11 provinces and municipalities directly under the Central Government(直辖市), including Qinghai, Xizang, Sichuan, Yunnan,
Chongqing, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Anhui, Jiangsu, and Shanghai. At last, it runs into the East China Sea.
Chinese people call the Yangtze River “China’s Mother River”. Chinese people began to live and grow food along the river thousands of years ago. The Yangtze River basin(流域) covers about 1.8 million square kilometers. It is one-fifth of China’s land area. Many big cities are sitting along the river. The river also has the world’s largest dam(坝), the Three Gorges Dam. It is 185 meters high and 2,335 meters long. This huge dam stops floods(洪水) and makes electricity(电) for millions of people.
The Yangtze River runs through many beautiful places. There are many amazing landscapes along the river, such as the glaciers(冰川) in Xizang, the cliffs(悬崖) of the Three Gorges, and the wide river mouth in Shanghai. The Yangtze River is like a “huge loong(龙)”, running across China and bringing life to the land.
