Robinson Crusoe* is a very famous novel written by Daniel Defoe. It tells an exciting story about a man named Robinson Crusoe and his great adventure on a lonely island.
Crusoe loved the sea. As a young man, he decided to go to sea, even though his father wanted him to stay home and work as a businessman. However, on one of his trips, his ship met a terrible storm and was destroyed. He was the only person alive. He swam to a nearby island, but it was empty and far away from any ship routes.
At first, Crusoe felt scared and lonely. However, he did not give up. He went back to the broken ship and brought many useful things to the island, like food, tools, and guns. He built a strong house to live in safely. He learnt to find food by himself. He hunted animals, grew rice and vegetables, and even learnt to make bread and pots.
One day, he saw footprints on the beach and found that some cannibals (食人族) sometimes came to his island. So he decided to fight and he saved one of the prisoners (囚犯) later. Crusoe named him Friday because they met on that day. Friday became Crusoe's good friend and helper. Crusoe taught Friday to speak English and how to live on the island.
After twenty-eight long years on the island, a ship finally came. The sailors (水手) on the ship had a problem—some of them wanted to take the ship from their captain. Robinson and Friday decided to help the good captain. Finally, ▲ . Crusoe's amazing adventure on the lonely island was finally over.
