This summer, my city faced the biggest challenge I've ever seen. A terrible heat wave and drought turned our green mountains brown and caused many wildfires.
Since the fire started, thousands of volunteers, office workers, shop owners, and students all came to help the professionals. Under the burning sun, local people worked together with them to fight the fire. They used special tools to cut down dry trees, creating wide paths (通道) to stop the fire from spreading. The sound of motorcycles (摩托车) never stopped—they raced up and down the hills, carrying firefighters and important supplies.

The most amazing night was when the fire reached Jinyun Mountain. Over a thousand people stood shoulder to shoulder, each holding an extinguisher (灭火器). When darkness fell, they turned on their headlamps, creating a shining silver wall that stood bravely against the red fire. It was the sight we wouldn't forget—a wall of hope protecting our home.
After several days of continuous fighting, we finally got good news: all the wildfires were put out! The firefighters from other cities were deeply touched.
