四、阅读理解(共15小题,每小题2分,满分30分)
A
Can you share what you've learned from ancient Chinese stories?
Big goals can be reached if we keep trying
My favourite lesson comes from Yu Gong Moves the Mountains. Yu Gong was old, and the mountains were huge, but he kept digging every day. He never gave up. This story teaches me that big goals can be reached if we keep trying. Last term, I was weak in English reading. I read one passage every day and slowly made progress. (Mark)

A smart idea can solve a hard problem
I like Cao Chong Weighs an Elephant best. Cao Cao wanted to know how heavy an elephant was, but no one had a scale(秤) big enough. Young Cao Chong used a boat and stones to find the answer. Once I couldn't finish a science task, so I changed my way of thinking and worked it out with a simple model. (Li Hua)

My favourite lesson is from Kong Rong Shares Pears. As a child, Kong Rong chose the smallest pear and gave the bigger ones to others. This story tells us we should care for others. During a school trip, one classmate forgot her water bottle. I shared mine with her. She smiled and said thanks. At that moment, I found that even a small act could make someone's day better. (Linda)
