people like me to grow up.My name is Li Ming,a middle school student in Chengdu.When I
heard that our city would hold the World Games,I decided to become a volunteer(志愿者).
At t first,I faced many challenges.My English was poor,and I felt too shy to talk to
strangers.I remember my first volunteer training day clearly.I needed to help a foreign visitor
find his way,but I was too nervous to say a complete sentence.My face turned red,and my
hands were wet.It was really a difficult moment for me.
However,I didn't give up.I practised English every day after school.I learned how to
give clear directions and answer simple questions.Slowly,I became more confident.Now,I
can talk to foreign guests without feeling too nervous.I have learned to stay calm under
pressure and solve problems by myself.
This experience has taught me an important lesson about growing up.It's not just about
getting taller or older.Real growth means facing your fears,learning from difficulties,and
becoming a more useful person.The World Games 2025 in Chengdu has given me a great chance
to understand this.I believe I will become better and stronger through this wonderful experience.
