As we all know, British English and American English are actually one kind of language, but there are still some differences between them.
Here are two of them: spelling and vocabulary, which resulted from the long-distance separation and different cultural development after early British settlers arrived in America. When it comes to spelling, the British write “colour” and “centre”, while the Americans write “color” and “center”. When talking about vocabulary, the British say “film” and “flat”; however, the Americans say “movie” and “apartment”.
