You will forget half of what you read after 2 weeks and 90% after 2 months. So if you think that taking notes and reviewing them are boring or not necessary, you're certainly wrong. You will not keep what you learn from a book in mind unless you repeat the information over and over again.
When you realize how much time you have wasted by not reviewing your notes, you will start to enjoy it. So how can we avoid wasting so much time? Most of my best ideas come from going back and collecting notes and sayings from the books I have read.
My general process is like this:
☆ Mark your information
This means you underline words and sentences, or collect useful information in the books.
☆ Write them down
Write your marks or underlines to a piece of paper so you have your own notes. Go over your notes and find the most important pieces, then start organizing them.
☆ Create your final results
Use your notes to create a mind map. Draw on one page and fit in as much information as you can. Review the mind map now and then. The process will certainly help you remember what you have read in the books.
