Your community is holding a "Volunteer Week" activity to care for people in need. As student volunteers, you will plan a small but practical volunteer activity for people in need around your community.
◆Step 1 Choose a Group & Target People
Work in groups of 3-4. As members of the community volunteer team, choose one group of people in need in our community(e. g. elderly neighbours living alone, classmates who have difficulty with study) to help.
◆Step 2 Plan the Volunteer Activity
Discuss and fill in the table below. Use simple English words(e. g. provide, help, donate, remind, volunteer).

◆Step 3 Write a Short Report(80-100 words)
Write a report to record your experience in the community "Volunteer Week" activity.

Who will we help?	The elderly neighbours living alone in our community.
What problem do they have?	They feel lonely, and they can’t finish heavy housework easily. Some also have trouble carrying groceries.
What will we do?	We will help clean their rooms, chat with them to cheer them up and help buy daily goods.
What do we need to prepare?	Cleaning cloths, small gifts like fruit, and a shopping list notebook.
How will we do it?	We visit their homes in groups of three every afternoon during Volunteer Week. We take turns to clean, talk and shop for them.

Our group decides to help the elderly neighbours living alone this Volunteer Week. Most of them feel lonely and struggle with housework. We prepare cleaning tools and fresh fruit for them. Every afternoon, three volunteers visit one old neighbour. We clean their houses, chat with them and help carry groceries. We hope our small help can bring them warmth. This volunteer activity teaches me that giving care to others makes us happy too.
