Once upon a time, there was a king (国王). When he became old, he began to worry about who would be the new king after his death. He called his three sons and gave each of them 100 gold coins. Then he said, "The one who can bring a golden dog for me will be the king."
The eldest son went to the city. He found some men and asked them to find the golden dog. After a few weeks, the men returned with empty hands. And they spent all the coins.
The second son went to the town and started lending money to people at low *interest*. He made much money and paid a store to make a golden dog.
The youngest son not only provided work for the poor, but also built hospitals and schools with that money to help them live a better life. The poor started to see him as the king.
A year passed by. The eldest son had nothing to give and the second son brought a golden dog to the king. The third son came with a dog made out of cotton. "I made it with my own hands. The hard work under the hot sun is much more meaningful than gold."
