They were considered special birds and were often found in the homes of rich people. The ancient Romans also loved parrots. They brought them from Africa and Asia and kept them in cages. These parrots were considered as the symbol of wealth. During the Middle Ages, kings and queens kept parrots in their palaces and enjoyed their beautiful songs and talking abilities.
In the modern world, parrots are loved by people of all ages. With better knowledge of their needs, people can take better care of them. Parrots can live long and healthy lives. They can learn to say many words and even perform tricks. Today, there are many different types of parrots kept as pets.
