On April 19, the 2026 Beijing E-Town Half Marathon and Humanoid Robot Half Marathon was held. More than 100 teams took part in the race this year. They came from more than ten provinces (省份) across China. There were even 5 foreign teams.
The robots' performance this year was much better than that of the robots in the first race last year. Only about 20 teams took part then. And just 6 robots finished the race. It took the winning robot 2 hours, 40 minutes and 42 seconds to finish the race. This year, a robot named "Flash" won the race. It ran 21 kilometres in 50 minutes and 26 seconds. ▲ The best record (纪录) for human runners was 57 minutes and 20 seconds. *A runner from Uganda set this record in March this year in Lisbon, Portugal.
