Every Sunday, the competition starts. The three of us set our alarm clocks to wake us up earlier than anyone else. I set my alarm clock for six in the morning, hoping that my brothers won't start before me.
The sound of the vacuum cleaner(吸尘器) wakes me up. They do their chores first! I jump up from my bed and run to the bathroom. I start the only chore for me. I will surely clear up the road when they build an ice house, I think sadly, cleaning the toilet bowl(马桶).
After I finish cleaning the toilet, my brothers come into the bathroom to watch me clean the bathtub(澡盆). They say that I woke up too late and had to do the longest chore. “Whoever(任何人) finishes last has to clear up the road. Remember, Tom?” my elder brother says to me with a smile. And we put on our big coats and snow pants to go outside.
The three of us walk outside into the thick snow. It is white everywhere and it's difficult for us to open our eyes. My brothers happily play in the yard, but I have to walk in the snow to the road. Each shovelful(一铲) of snow feels heavier than the one before.
Suddenly, I hear the sound of shovelling snow. Turning around, I see my brothers busily shovelling snow from the road. “We're not helping. We just need snow for our ice house,” my younger brother says quickly.
Soon, shovel by shovel, we clear out the road together and get enough snow to build the ice house of our dreams. We spend the rest of our relaxing Sunday in the ice house drinking the sweetest ever hot cocoa.
