范畴:人与自我 主题:敢于创新 体裁:记叙文 难度:★★★★ 建议用时:6分钟 评价:/3
请认真阅读下面短文,用英语回答短文后的问题。
At just seven years old, Angelina Tsuboi discovered her interest in invention. It all began with a simple maze game she created when she was in Grade 2. "I was charmed by the whole experience," she says.
Today, she is not only a software developer, but a pilot with an interest in aerospace cybersecurity(航空航天网络安全). Her primary interest has changed into a wish to use technology to solve real-world problems. "I think a lot of kids feel upset because they don't know how their actions could actually change the world," she says.
In 2021, she was a 10th grader at Chadwick School, and she developed Megaphone. It was one of her first apps, which was designed to deal with problems like unanswered post-class questions and poor communication about events and announcements. Her problem-solving ability kept building from there. When she took online CPR(心肺复苏) classes at the start of the pandemic, she created an app called CPR Buddy. It guides users to perform CPR.
After winning an award, Angelina presented her work to Apple CEO Tim Cook. It was a highlight in her young career. But she didn't lose her cool. "There's no point in putting people on a pedestal," she says.
The next year, Angelina built an app called Lilac. It was designed to help non-English-speaking single parents with resources for housing, job opportunities, and translation support. She was encouraged by her own experiences as a child of a single mother who came to the US from Japan.
Angelina admits she doesn't sleep much and has never been to a high-school party, but she has her priorities. Her advice to other young people who want to solve problems? Think positively.
