As a new way to reduce waste on the planet, the Stamp Egg Packaging made of PaperFoam stands out. PaperFoam is a kind of sustainable (可持续的) and environmentally-friendly material.
As the name suggests, the Stamp Egg Packaging is inspired by stamps. Just like stamps, now you can take your eggs out one by one from this special package. And it has all the necessary features for an egg package—allowing easy opening and closing, providing protection, and enabling stacking (堆叠).
Differently, by using the Stamp Egg Packaging, people can use fewer plastic egg packages that cannot be recycled. This form of packaging also helps you easily count the eggs without opening the package. Less opening and closing of the package means the eggs are less affected by the temperature changes, which helps keep them fresh for a longer time. What’s more, the independently packaged eggs can be easily packed for a picnic or in a lunch box.
However, the development of the Stamp Egg Packaging is not easy at all. Its designer Yoon said, “After trying different ways to make the PaperFoam look and work better, I planned to design something that people can use every day. Among many possibilities, my interest focused on egg packaging finally.” Since then, new package designs have been tested to replace the standard regular boxes. But none of these new products could really compete with the cost-effective and high-performance boxes made of pressed paper.
“It is not possible to fully achieve it in a short time,” Yoon said. “But I am sure the Stamp Egg Packaging will stay green from beginning to end—when it’s made, used, and even thrown away!”
