Liam Quinn, a 37 year-old musician, lives happily on a boat for five years in London. "I love waking up to the water and swans. One month, I'm in the heart of the city; the next, I stop next to cows in the countryside," he says.
A small boat costs between 50,000 pounds about 456,000 yuan and 100,000 pounds. That's cheaper than buying a flat in London. In the richest places, the price of a flat is around 600,000 pounds.
But boat life isn't all fun. Quinn has to move his boat every two weeks and clean the toilet every day. Yuck! Still, Quinn loves his watery home. "You learn to fix things and make friends with others. Everyone is friendly and helpful!" he says.
