五、阅读与回答问题
There are many things we can learn from nature. For example, the bamboo tree seems to have no changes for the first four years, but in the fifth year, the bamboo tree grows to 80 feet tall in just short six weeks. What does it tell us?
Success doesn’t come right away. As the saying goes, “Rome was not built in a day.” Do you exercise for one day and hope to lose all the fat on your body? Not at all, you don’t hope that, right? So give your goals and dreams more time. Work on them step by step and it takes time to get them.
Success needs a strong foundation(基础). The bamboo tree could never grow to 80 feet tall if it did not grow its root deep into the ground in the first few years. Spend time building a strong foundation. This is very important if your goals and dreams are too big.
Success is about your keeping on. Without daily watering, nurturing(养育) and giving enough sunshine to the bamboo tree, it can never grow. It will never experience full growth, and you may even kill the bamboo. Some people think about the dreams and work on them in the beginning, but at last, they lose patience and never take action for their dreams again.
Believe in yourself and your dreams. Another important lesson you must learn from the bamboo tree is that you need to believe in yourself and your dreams. Of course, this does not mean that you should just believe, wait and do nothing about them. At the same time you should work hard on them. A lot of people fail to do this when they put in their heart and time but never get to see the results.
