Behind the screen, students are using thin straight pieces of wood to make shadow puppets(皮影木偶)step onto the “stage(舞台)” while the 71-year-old Liu Aibang is singing. The “stage” is actually a cloth screen with light from behind. Those students in front of the stage are playing music on drums, *suona* and other instruments(乐器).
