More and more Chinese students find life difficult without their parents. They don't know how to do housework, because their parents do all things for them at home. This is a problem.
Joy is 14 years old. One day her parents go away for a meeting, so she has to stay at home alone. At first she thinks she will be happy because her parents are not at home and that she can do all the things she likes. It is six o'clock in the afternoon. She feels hungry. “Oh, it’s time to have dinner. Where can I get my food?” she says to herself. Later she finds some food in the fridge, but she doesn’t know how to cook. At that moment, she misses her parents very much. At last she can only go to the supermarket and buy some food to eat.
Many students are like Joy. They don’t know how to do housework at all. So I think students should learn some basic life skills, like cooking, tidying up rooms and washing the clothes. They shouldn’t depend on their parents too much.
