六、(2025·宿迁泗阳期末)阅读理解(8 分)
“绿色城市”项目致力于城市整洁,它的发起人是一名中学生。一起来了解一下丽莎的不凡之举吧。
Lisa, a 13-year-old student from Suqian Middle School, started the "Green City" project in 2024 after seeing piles of litter in her neighbourhood park. "One day I saw a plastic bag stuck in a tree, and it just made me sad," she says. "I thought if I don't do something, who will?"
Every Saturday morning, Lisa and her team of 15 classmates meet at 8 a.m. They divide into groups: some carry trash bins, and others hold signs to remind people to keep the environment clean. Last month, they organized a "Recycling Workshop" for primary school students, teaching them how to classify paper, glass, and plastic. So the students can separate waste into different groups. "A little boy told me he started recycling at home after the workshop," Lisa smiles. "That's why we do this."
The project hasn't been easy. Once, a man threw a cigarette butt(烟蒂) on the ground and said, "Why should I care?" Lisa politely picked it up and replied, "Because this is our home." Since then, the man has become a volunteer in their team.
By the end of 2023, the "Green City" team had collected over 800 kg of waste and set up 20 recycling bins in parks. The city government awarded them the "Youth Environmental Award", but Lisa says the real prize is seeing more people join. "My dream is to make Suqian the cleanest city in China," she says. "Even if it takes ten years, I'll keep going."
