An ant is thirsty. He wants to drink some water in the pond, but he slips（滑倒）and falls into the water. He cannot get to the bank（岸）. “Help! Help!” he shouts.
A dove（鸽子）in the tree sees it and he throws（扔）a leaf to the ant. “Climb onto it.” The ant climbs onto the leaf and gets to the bank. “Thanks, my friend. I hope I could help you one day,” says the ant happily.
One day, the dove is making a nest（窝）in a tree. A hunter（猎人）comes and wants to catch the dove. The ant sees this. He runs up to the hunter and bites his foot.
The hunter feels a sharp pain（刺痛）and cries. The dove hears the noise and flies away quickly.
The dove comes back to the ant. “Thank you, my friend,” says the dove. “You are great!” They become good friends. They often play happily together.
