A My new deskmate

Lisa is a Grade Five student. She is nice to her classmates, but she has a problem. Her new deskmate Mary doesn’t talk much and never joins in group games.
Lisa wants to help her. She thinks, “Why don’t I try to make friends with her?”
One morning, Lisa says to Mary, “You look lonely. Why not play badminton with me after class? It’s fun.”
Mary shakes her head, “I’m not good at sport. I’m afraid I can’t play well.”
Lisa smiles and says, “Why don’t you try it? I can teach you. We all want to get along well with you.”
Then Lisa shares her storybooks with Mary and talks about her favourite things. Mary starts to talk and play with Lisa and now they are good friends.
