Some animals can run very, very fast on land. Let's meet them!
“I am the fastest (最快的) runner!” says the cheetah (猎豹).
It can run 114 km an hour! It can run as fast as a car on a highway (公路)! But it can only run for a short time.
“I can run for a long time!” says the pronghorn (叉角羚).
It runs almost (差不多) 90 km an hour. It is not the fastest, but it can run for a long time.
Why are they so fast?
• Their bodies are born (天生的) for running!
• They have to be. *They need to catch food or run away from danger (危险)!
