新素材 AI教育新方案 Guangdong Province has introduced a new programme on artificial intelligence (AI) education for primary and secondary school students, aiming to improve students' AI literacy(素养) from an early age.
According to a news conference held in April in Guangzhou, the province will require at least six hours of AI education for students in grades one through four every year. Students in grades five and six, as well as those in junior high school, must complete no less than 10 hours per year. For senior high school students in grades one and two, the programme requires at least one AI class hour every two weeks.
Primary students are expected to experience and become familiar（熟悉） with AI, while junior high students will begin understanding and using it. In senior high school, the goal will be changed to design and innovation(创新).
AI technology is developing quickly around the world and is having great influence on education. Teachers need to move from being AI users to AI education designers, and students should change from technology experiencers to innovation leaders. AI education is very important for young learners. It focuses more on students' growth, practical innovation and social value rather than just test scores.
Promoting(推动) AI education in primary and secondary schools will help us better explore educational resources and support sustainable（可持续的） educational development. This will also help bridge the education differences between cities and the countryside and allow children from different backgrounds to have the same classes. AI education may let students learn without time or place limits and promote educational fairness. Developing AI education will improve AI literacy among all students. Improving life literacy is not about training students to get higher scores—it's about awakening(唤醒) every student's spirit of innovation.
