Lin Tao's grandpa is 62. He never uses plastic bags. He always uses a bamboo basket(竹篮) for shopping.
"Why do you always use that basket, Grandpa?" Lin Tao asked.
"My father made it for me 50 years ago," Grandpa said. "It's still strong. Bamboo is light but tough(坚固的). It can last for decades(几十年). When it gets old and breaks, it goes back to the Earth. It doesn't stay in the ground like plastic."
