(江苏南京月考)School life around the world
In China, most middle school students wear uniforms to school. They usually have six classes a day—four in the morning and two in the afternoon. After school, some students go to tutoring classes to improve their grades. At noon, Chinese students often have rice, vegetables and meat for lunch in the school canteen.
In the US, middle school students don't have to wear uniforms. They have more elective classes, such as music, art, French and German. Their school days are shorter than Chinese students'—they usually finish school at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. After school, many students join clubs, like sports clubs, drama clubs or coding clubs. American students often have hamburgers, pizza or salad for lunch.
In Japan, middle school students also wear uniforms. A special part of their school life is "class duty"—they have to clean their classrooms, the corridor and even the playground after class every day. Japanese schools offer plenty of hands-on activities, like science experiments, craft classes and gardening. For lunch, students usually eat bento boxes with rice, fish, vegetables and a small piece of fruit.
