Dear Parents,
In order to let children understand traditional Chinese handicrafts and experience the fun of them, we plan to decorate the campus with colourful Chinese lanterns and prepare a unique school celebration activity. This activity allows children to gain a deeper understanding of the beauty of this traditional art through hands - on experience. Your child's homework is to make a different and special lantern on his or her own and decorate it in any way they wish.
How to make a lantern:
1. Make the lantern on a black card (or a red card for a more traditional lantern).
2. Cut out windows in any shape you wish.
3. Glue (粘贴) around the windows and cover them with thin paper.
4. Roll (滚动) the card into a cylinder (圆柱) shape and stick together.
5. Make two holes at the top and hang it with some thread (线).
All lanterns need to be in school before the weekend, so we can make a great preparation for the show. Each of students' work will be shown in our school next Monday. I look forward to seeing your lanterns at our school!
