A little weed (野草) was very sad. “You’re just a weed!” some children said. The weed bowed her head. No one thought she was useful.
Then winter came. It was cold and snowy. The birds were hungry and looked for food.
One day, a bird saw the weed. “Look! Seeds (种子)!” he said. He ate some seeds. Three other (另外的) birds came and shared the seeds.
Now the weed was happy. She lifted her head high and said, “I am useful! Next year, I will grow more seeds!”
“Thank you!” the birds said. “We will be back!”
The weed smiled. *She knew she could help the birds.
