六、阅读理解。
Benny and Gilbert are good friends. One day, they take a trip far away.
It is a long way and they soon eat up all their food. They are very tired and they get angry with each other. Benny slaps(拍打) Gilbert's face. Gilbert says nothing. He walks out of the tent and writes in the sand(沙子), "Today, my best friend slaps me."
After a short sleep, they go on with their trip. They are glad to find a river. Benny and Gilbert are very excited and go to drink water from the river. Suddenly, Gilbert gets into the river, but he can't swim. He is in danger! Benny jumps into the river quickly and helps him out of the water. After some minutes, Gilbert wakes up. He writes on a stone(石头), "Today, my best friend helps me out of danger."
After they get back, Benny is very curious. He asks Gilbert, "Why do you write in the sand after I slap you, but write on the stone after I help you?"
Gilbert answers, "Wind can take away my words in the sand, but those on the stone will be there for years." They look at each other and both laugh happily.
