Food Cultures:China vs. Western Countries
Food in different countries is very different. It shows the special life habits of each place.
Chinese people are good at making delicious food. We like to use fresh materials(材料), such as fresh vegetables, meat and grains to cook. Chinese food tastes rich and varied, and it is healthy. We usually have three meals a day: breakfast, lunch and dinner. Dumplings, noodles and rice are our common food.
In Western countries, like England or America, people enjoy fast food very much, such as hamburgers, chips and fried chicken. But this kind of food is not healthy. Western people are very good at making desserts and chocolate. They can make very good cakes, cookies and chocolate that taste sweet and yummy. Unlike Chinese people, Western people may have more than three meals a day. They usually have afternoon tea between lunch and dinner. They often eat fruit, pudding(布丁) or cakes with cheese at that time.
