I'm interested in English and I want to be a translator(翻译家) when I grow up. But I read an article yesterday. It said that AI would take translation jobs away. Will it come true? If AI can translate foreign languages, why do we need to study English? How should we face the age of AI?

I know your worries. AI has become a part of our lives,and an AI translator makes it possible for everyone to get translations easily. However, there is still a long way for an AI translator to go. It sometimes misses important things and makes mistakes. What's more, it is not good at understanding a writer's feelings. A check by humans is necessary.
Learning foreign languages is not just for translation. It's a meaningful experience that opens your eyes to the world. You can also learn more about your own language and culture. Learning about each other's language and culture helps us have a better understanding of each other.
