B
"They're fighting like cats and dogs" is a common saying, often used when two people are against each other strongly. A study working on which animal is better, shows that cats often turn a blind eye to their owners while dogs don't. They are mean(刻薄的) to people. So, are dogs better pets than cats?
There's a reason why dogs are known as man's best friend. They're loving and look after us. Whether it's a guide dog or just a friendly pet dog, they can be close friends. Dog owners stay fit too, thanks to the daily walks with the dogs. Scientists find that dogs are much smarter than cats. This is because dogs have twice the number of neurons(神经元) in their brains. This means that owners can teach their dogs new tricks and build a stronger relationship with them. Thanks to their big brains, dogs could be far better than cats.
However, through history, cats have been just as important to humans as dogs, if not more so. For example, in ancient Egypt, cats were seen as sacred (神圣的) animals. Also, cats are far more independent than dogs, which makes them easier to own. Dogs need to be taken for walks every day, whatever the weather. Cats, on the other hand, are much more glad to help themselves. And they don't make as much of a mess. They can be just as loving and caring as dogs.
What do you think? Could it be possible for the two sides to agree with each other and stop fighting like cats and dogs?

解析
第一段提到研究显示猫常常对主人视而不见,紧接着说“They are mean to people”,由此可推断“They”指代前文的cats。
3. 第58题:第三段核心是说明猫比狗更独立、更容易饲养,提到“Dogs need to be taken for walks every day, whatever the weather”是为了和猫的自主照料形成对比,从而突出猫更容易照顾的特点。
56. 定位第一段,根据前文“A study working on which animal is better, shows that cats often turn a blind eye to their owners while dogs don't.”
57. 第二段首句“There's a reason why dogs are known as man's best friend.”
58. 第三段提到“cats are far more independent than dogs, which makes them easier to own”,随后用“Dogs need to be taken for walks every day, whatever the weather”与猫的自主照料作对比,目的是突出猫更容易照顾,故选A。
60. 文章全程围绕“Are Dogs Better Pets than Cats?”
