I began to learn English when I was 10 years old. Everything I was taught in school was about tenses(时态)and other complex grammar(语法). Every day,my teacher asked us to copy new words 10 times. Slowly,I got fed up with reciting(背诵) vocabulary and grammar rules. And learning English became something I disliked.
When I was in 10th grade,my parents bought me a computer. From then on,it became my best helper. I began to learn English through interesting learning materials on the internet,and it was also when I fell in love with the language. I began to listen to music and watch TV shows. Besides,I found many websites. People from all over the world exchanged cultures with each other on those websites. I made a lot of foreign friends there,and we talked about everything in life.
At first,I thought that people wanted to communicate with each other,so they learned English. When I fully learned the language,I found something important: Through language,I can deeply connect(联系)with all the knowledge in the world.
Thanks to English,I have learned much more about the world around me. The journey towards language fluency(流利)is not always easy,and I still have a long way to go. I won't,however,give up on it.
