2026年亮点给力大试卷五年级英语上册译林版第23页答案
(B)(南通如皋市期末)
When I was little, my mum sometimes looked tired, stressed(焦虑不安) or worried when she came home from work. Maybe she had a hard day. Maybe she heard sad news about a friend or a family member. Or maybe she found that something upsetting(令人不快的) happened on the TV news.
When things felt hard or sad like that, she would say the same sentence “This too shall pass(过去).” It was her way of reminding everyone and herself that even the worst(最糟的) times can always pass. Sometimes, when you’re right in the middle of feeling bad, it seems like it will never end. But Mum told us to stay strong and positive(积极的) and ask for help. Things would always get better.
For many years, I forgot about Mum’s sentence. Near the end of 2022, I got really sick. I caught a very bad cold. I had to be in hospital for a few days. Lying in that hospital bed, feeling weak and worried, I found it hard to feel happy or hopeful about anything.
Then, I remembered Mum’s sentence when I was young. “This too shall pass.” I began telling it to myself, just like Mum did. It helped me feel a little braver. Day by day, I got stronger and more positive.
Now, whenever I feel sad, stressed or worried, I say Mum’s sentence to myself, “This too shall pass.” It helps me remember that better times are coming, even if I can’t see them yet. Next time you’re having a really bad day, you might want to try saying it too. If it helps me and my mum, maybe it can help you feel a little better as well.
