English is full of fun and colourful idioms, which people use every day. Below are some great horse-related idioms. 1.
E

· Horses for courses.
2.
D
It probably comes from horse racing. Some horses run better on some roads. Trainers pick the best road for each horse. In life, we should let people do what they are good at.

· Hold your horses.
When someone says "Hold your horses", they mean "Wait a moment" or "Be patient". The phrase likely comes from horse racing. 3.
F
Example: Hold your horses—we're not ready to leave yet!
· 4.
C

This idiom means you shouldn't question the value of a gift. If someone gives you something, it's polite to appreciate it rather than inspect whether it's perfect. The saying comes from horse trading. Experts could tell a horse's age by its teeth—so if you were given a horse and checked its mouth, it looked rude and ungrateful.
· 5.
B

This idiom means doing things in the wrong order. It shows a funny and absurd image: if the cart is in front of the horse, neither are going to move. You need the horse first to pull the cart! Example: Planning your wedding when you're not even dating anyone is putting the cart before the horse.
——文章选自 Jackie Teaches English
A. Get off your high horse.
B. Put the cart before the horse.
C. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
D. This idiom means different people are suitable for different jobs.
E. Learning these expressions can make your English sound more natural.
F. Riders needed to hold the reins(缰绳) to stop their horses from starting too early.

英语嗨吧
cuttings were only popular in the countryside, and the masters were women farmers.
Traditional paper-cuttings were first put up on windows for decoration. This is why they're also called "window flowers". Most paper-cuttings are made of red paper, because red means good luck in Chinese culture. Today, people use paper-cuttings to decorate not only windows, but also mirrors, lamps and other furniture.

Paper-cuttings are popular because of their expressions of good wishes and hopes. During the Spring Festival, for example, many people put up paper-cuttings of the Chinese character "Fu" upside down. They hope that this will bring them good luck. At wedding ceremonies, you can always see paper-cuttings of the character "Xi". It means that the couple can enjoy double happiness together. Paper-cuttings have developed into different styles in different parts of China. Paper-cuttings from the northern parts usually have interesting shapes and rich patterns. In southern China, people prefer elegant paper-cuttings. They focus more on the themes of flowers, fruit, birds and fish.
It is quite easy to learn how to make paper-cuttings. With a piece of paper and a knife or a pair of scissors, you can try to make your own paper art. You can only make one piece at a time by using a knife. But if you use scissors to cut several pieces of paper together, you can make several identical paper-cuttings at a time.
