Do you try to swat (拍) a fly (苍蝇)? Your hand moves fast. But the fly flies away! Why?
Flies see changes (变化) in the world much faster than we do. To them, your hand moves slowly. They have much time to fly away. This keeps them safe from bigger animals.
Some animals know time in special (特殊的) ways (方式). Sea turtles (海龟) follow the moon. They lay eggs (产卵) more often near the new moon. The weak (微弱的) moonlight (月光) helps hide their eggs. Dogs can smell time. When you are home, your smell is strong. It gets weak when you go out. *By smelling how much of the smell is left, your dog knows when you are coming back. Bees remember time. They know when flowers open. They fly to get pollen (花粉).
