China’s Journey to the Stars
The launch of Shenzhou V in 2003 was a milestone in Chinese history. It successfully carried the first Chinese taikonaut, Yang Liwei, into space and returned safely, making China the third country to achieve independent human spaceflight. However, this great achievement(成就) was not the end, but a new beginning.
Before Shenzhou V, there were years of hard work and unmanned test flights. After it, China set its sights further. The Shenzhou series missions that followed achieved more difficult tasks, such as spacewalks and docking. Then, China launched the Tiangong space stations and sent rovers to explore the Moon and Mars. Each step built upon the success of the last, showing China’s growing capabilities(能力) in space technology.
The spirit of Shenzhou V is about courage and continuous(持续的) exploration. It inspired a whole generation. Young students like Daming learn about these stories, and the dream of space is passed on. From a single manned flight to a plan for a research station on the Moon, China’s space journey reminds us that every great dream starts with a brave first step.

1. C 2. B

解析

2. 细节理解题:根据第一段“It successfully carried the first Chinese taikonaut, Yang Liwei, into space and returned safely, making China the third country to achieve independent human spaceflight”可知,神舟五号是中国首次独立完成的载人航天飞行。A选项的中国首次太空行走、C选项的和空间站对接都是神舟五号之后的后续任务成果,不符合题意,因此选B。
