• What is Mother’s Day?
Mother’s Day is a special day for every mother in the world. On this day, people say thank you to their mothers and other important women in their lives, such as grandmothers, aunts, sisters, or carers. In England, it is also known as Mothering Sunday.
• When is Mother’s Day?
Mother’s Day is on a Sunday in many countries, but it is on different Sundays in different countries. In America, Canada and Australia, it falls on the second Sunday of May every year. In Spain, it is on the first Sunday of May every year. In France, it is usually on the last Sunday of May, but sometimes it is on the first Sunday of June.
• How do people celebrate Mother’s Day?
People often give their mothers gifts, cards and flowers. Also, they make a meal or a cake for their mothers. In Japan, children give their mums red flowers. In Brazil, people go to church in the morning and then they have a barbecue(户外烧烤). The whole family cooks for Mum.
