The Start of Spring, the first of the 24 solar terms in the Chinese lunar calendar, is more than a sign of seasonal change. It's a symbol of new life with a long history in China. It is full of spring warmth and people's hopes for a new year.
It started in the Spring and Autumn Period, and the 24 solar terms system was finished in the Western Han Dynasty.
