One day a coconut(椰子) trader was on a farm, picking some coconuts. He rode his horse and brought a big basket to carry the coconuts. As he continued to pick coconuts, soon he had quite a few coconuts. He was very excited.
Then the trader went home with the coconuts. It would take him a long time, as the farm was far from the city. A few hours later, he saw a young boy nearby.
“How long do you think it will take me to get to the city?” he asked.
“If you go slowly, you will reach the city faster. If you go fast, you will reach the city more slowly,” the boy answered, and ran away.
“How come?” thought the trader.
He didn’t think so and decided to have a try. But when he made his horse run faster, some coconuts dropped from his basket. The trader had to get off and put them back in. As he went faster again, some coconuts dropped again and he had to stop.
This went on and on. Finally, by night, the trader reached his house much later than before. He finally got the young boy’s words.
