A
Symbol of friendship
“We are very proud to play a part in the protection of the giant panda and its habitat (栖息地).” The director of Australian Schoenbrunn Zoo said on April 23rd, when two 5-year-old giant pandas, He Feng and Lan Yun from China, arrived at the zoo. Their arrival, marking the friendship between the two countries, will be celebrated in an official ceremony.

A win-win solution
A growing conflict(冲突) between elephants and farmers near Kenya's Tsavo National Park has led to a creative solution. As human settlements (定居) expand into elephant habitats, the animals often destroy crops. To avoid this, local farmers put up beehive(蜂箱) fences around their fields as elephants fear bees. The fences protect crops from the elephants and reduce human-wildlife conflict at the same time.

Colmar in France gives free chickens to help cut down food waste by feeding them leftovers.
Since 2015, the new mayor (市长) has started the “One Family, One Chicken” project. Early on, over 200 homes joined. Now, all 20 districts are in. With food waste encouraging global warming, this easy move makes a big difference.
