A pencil event
On June 7, hundreds of people took part in an event to sharpen a six-meter-tall pencil sculpture (雕塑) in Minneapolis. It was made out of a 180-year-old tree broken in a 2017 storm. It stands in John and Amy Higgins' yard. A famous artist created the sculpture. Each year, lots of people come to the celebration.
The Bun Festival
Thousands of people went to Cheung Chau from May 3 to 6 to celebrate the Bun Festival, a tradition that started more than 200 years ago. People enjoy white buns marked with the Chinese words "ping an". The key part is the competition. People climb a tower of buns and try to take as many as possible.
2025 Xinjiang Ili Tianma Cultural Tourism Festival
The opening event of the festival took place on July 19. The festival runs from May to October, drawing many people. Known as the "Hometown of China's Tianma", Zhaosu has a long history of keeping horses.
The Inner Mongolia archery (射箭运动) event
Over 800 players came to the archery event of the 35th Inner Mongolia Grassland Naadam Festival (内蒙古草原那达慕大会). It opened in Xiliin Gol League on July 19. During the match, archers drew their bows (弓) with great focus. You could hear the sound of arrows flying and people cheering. It showed a lively and exciting picture of grassland sports.
