Some people looked around in a small old shop in Durham early this month. They were surprised to find something special. It was not a nice old jar (罐子).
Beside a chicken-shaped (鸡形的) jar was a very real, very live owl (猫头鹰).
Wildlife officers came to the shop. They found a brown-and-white owl sitting quietly with its eyes closed. It had a nice sleep among the old things.
The officers gently held the sleeping bird and took (带走) it out of the shop carefully. Later they set it free in a forest nearby. The owl flew off and then rested in a tree.
This kind of owl comes out at night and usually lives in holes (洞) in trees.
No one knows how this owl got into the shop. It's still a mystery.
